The Goleta Library invites all ages to celebrate International Game Day on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. The session will be led by local professional card and board game designer Joyce Johnson. The Goleta Library is located at 500 N. Fairview Ave. in Goleta.
Johnson is the creator of 38 published games, including her co-invented game, In a Pickle, which has sold more than 1.3 million copies. Her presentation will give a broad description of the toy industry. She will describe life as a professional card and board game designer and give advice on how to launch a career inventing and playing games.
Johnson frequently hosts local Game Nights and play tests her games in local Santa Barbara schools. The winner of the 2008 Rising Star Inventor of the Year TAGIE Award and multiple game industry awards will bring a selection of her games for attendees to play. All ages are welcome.
