Local author and naturalist Joan Lentz will give an illustrated talk about her new book. A Naturalist’s Guide to the Santa Barbara Region is the first-ever comprehensive nature guide to our area.
The talk and slide show on Friday, Nov. 22 at 7:00 p.m. will be at the Goleta Library, located at 500 N. Fairview Ave. in Goleta.
There are few more qualified to speak about the natural history of the Santa Barbara region than Joan Lentz. Author, teacher and research associate for the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, Joan has been a serious student of the natural history of the Santa Barbara region for over 35 years.
Adults and young people ages 9 and up will be spellbound by the rich array of photos and knowledgeable narration as Joan takes the audience on a journey from tide pools to mountain peaks and pinyon-juniper woodlands. “This program will deepen our understanding of where we live and its array of inhabitants, and inspire us to head outside,” said Judy Savage, librarian at the Goleta Library.
This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Goleta Library. For more information call the Goleta Library at 805-964-7878.
