The Goleta City Council will convene a special meeting on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. to consider the award of a construction contract for construction of the first phase of the San Jose Creek Capacity Improvement Project. This phase of the project includes the removal and reconstruction of the concrete flood control channel from the drive-in theater property to approximately 200 feet downstream of Hollister Avenue. Completion of the San Jose Creek Capacity Improvement Project will eliminate overflows from San Jose Creek during flood events and allow for the removal of up to 200 developed properties from the regulatory flood plain.

The public is invited to participate. The meeting will be broadcast on Goleta Channel 19 and will also be available for viewing on the City’s web site at www.cityofgoleta.org.
