Goleta to Host Regional Press Conference
On RDA Elimination Proposal

WHERE: Goleta Valley Community Center, 5679 Hollister Avenue, Goleta

WHEN: Friday, February 25th, 10:00 a.m.

WHO: Speakers from a variety of public agencies, private corporations, non-profits, business owners and individuals who live in the Goleta Redevelopment area will be on hand to speak to the importance of preserving RDAs.

Speakers will include:
Kristen Amyx, President & CEO of the Goleta Valley Chamber of
Commerce
Ed Andrisek, Mayor of Buellton
Margaret Connell, Mayor of Goleta
John Lynn, Mayor of Lompoc
Carl Morehouse, Ventura City Council Member and President of the
Channel Counties Division of the League of California Cities
Helene Schneider, Mayor of Santa Barbara
Craig Zimmerman, President of the Towbes Group

WHY: The City of Goleta, along with other cities, community organizations, businesses, affordable housing advocates, non-profits and individuals are deeply concerned about the significant impact the
elimination of RDAs could have on our local communities.

A list of specific site examples of blighted areas, proposed projects and completed affordable housing projects will be available for video and photographs. In addition, Spanish translation will be provided at the event.
