(This event was rescheduled from November.)
A book discussion group for readers who like to explore a wide variety of books, from prize-winning fiction in various genres, to newer non-fiction. NOTE, starting in November, the discussions will start at 3:30 pm.
"A vivid reimagining of the woman who inspired Hester Prynne, the tragic heroine of Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter, and a journey into the enduring legacy of New England's witchcraft trials. Who is the real Hester Prynne? ... Meticulously researched yet evocatively imagined, Laurie Lico Albanese's Hester is a timeless tale of art, ambition, and desire that examines the roots of female creative power and the men who try to shut it down"-- (publisher)
Copies of Hester are available at Solvang Library, and as an E-book download via Libby.
ALSO, since this is the group's December meeting, book club members are encouraged to bring a copy of a favorite holiday recipe to share with the group!
