Watch Old Town Sidewalks Celebration Video
We encourage you to take time out to watch our Old Town Sidewalks Celebration Video. The $3.2 million project was recently completed on time and under budget. Typically we would have done a ribbon-cutting celebration to mark the project being finished, but due to the pandemic and restrictions on gatherings we have put together this video instead. We hope you enjoy seeing the difference the new sidewalks and other improvements are making in Old Town Goleta. Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/gjQNVeQ3RgM. It is also available in Spanish here: https://youtu.be/g-sGpPKs6Hg .

Description
The Old Town Sidewalk Improvement Program will construct a network of sidewalks along at least one side of the streets in the residential areas of Old Town. The project will assess sidewalk deficiencies, create a prioritization plan, and install sidewalk improvements north of Hollister Avenue from South Fairview Avenue to Kinman Avenue as well as Pine Avenue south of Hollister Avenue.

Strategic Plan Goals

- Return Old Town to the Vital Center of the City.
- Maintain a safe community.

The City was recently awarded an Active Transportation Planning (ATP) Grant for $2.224 million for the project. An additional $555 thousand will be applied as the local match from the Measure A local funds and Goleta Transportation Improvement Program (GTIP).
An additional $1.9 million will be applied as the local match from the Measure A, Goleta Transportation Development Fees, and General Fund.
