The City of Goleta, in partnership with the Optimist Clubs and Goleta Valley Beautiful, will dedicate a grove of eighty six California oak trees adjacent to Stow House and the Goleta Railroad Museum on Wednesday, April 8 at 12:30 p.m.
The Goleta City Council recently approved renaming the "Optimist Grove" at Lake Los Carneros to the "Al Turnbull Optimists Grove" in honor of longtime community activist Al Turnbull, 90, who helped establish the grove.
Mayor Roger S. Aceves, City Councilmembers, representatives from Optimist Clubs and Goleta Valley Beautiful will be on hand to honor Al Turnbull for his many years of community service.
Park at 300 North Los Carneros Rd. and walk through the Goleta Depot to reach the grove.
