Covington Drainage Pipe Improvements Project

Print

Description

The project will identify short-term and long-term solutions to flooding concerns of the Covington Way drainage system from Covington Way to Cathedral Oaks Road. The current phase of the project will construct the short-term improvements.

Purpose and Need

Historically, there has been flooding of Cathedral Oaks Road and Covington Way near Camino Venturoso. Flood Control has cleaned out the storm drain outlet at the north end of Lake Los Carneros. The team needs to evaluate the local watershed areas, amount of anticipated run-off and pipe sizes and potentially make recommendations to change parts of the system to avoid potential future flooding.

Strategic Plan Goals

Strengthen Infrastructure.
Maintain a Safe Community.

Funding Sources

The project is funded through the General Fund road maintenance program.

Current Phase

The project is in the design phase.
